Arab League to decide cutting ties with Gaddafi and acknowledging the Council

Al JazeeraThe Arab League is meeting to discuss among other things the imposing of a no-fly zone. A proposal to cut ties with Gaddafi’s regime and to recognize the Council will also be discussed.
Arab leaders are divided on the subject of a no-fly zone, so there is no guarantee this will happen. They do not have the authority to impose one themselves. Foreign intervention from other powers would be required, which they rejected in an earlier statement.

    The Arab League must offer security to the Libyan people by sending in supporting troops, armour and air support today before it is far too late.
