Video: Revolutionaries in the west suspend advancement

Libya’s opposition forces had planned to advance westwards to the city of Tiji, which has one of the biggest military bases loyal to leader Muammar Gaddafi in the region, but it has been temporarily put on hold.

Juma Ibrahim, spokesperson for the rebels, told Al Jazeera in the Nafusa mountains that the group will not enter Tiji just yet to allow time for reconciliation efforts and to avoid inter-tribal conflict.

Opposition members say Gaddafi is responsible for sowing tensions by telling the city that the fighters are planning to attack it.

Al Jazeera’s Zeina Khodr reports from the Nafusa mountains.

    Good way of thinking

    I hope reconciliation will happen.

Reconciliation may look slow, but it is the fastest way

    Welcome back admin.We missed you.
The Nafusa Mountain rebels are being careful to prevent future tribal conflicts. That’s good planning. It’s also good to see all those fighters taking a much needed break.

    Blessings.

Interesting too to see that it is now the freedom fighters who are setting the tempo.

That is what the rebels with help of their Masters have been doing. There are many towns and cities that were peaceful before these blood hungry mercenaries arrived.

There are living examples of towns that were vacated by Libyan army and ransacked once they move out and the mercenaries moved in.

Who are they fooling? Tripoli is peaceful but they still want to attack it. These are killers bent on destroying Libya and its people.

They pretend they don’t want to attack the town. Who are they fooling? What have they been doing from the start?

Reconciliation with the people of Tiji has happened, so the UNITED LIBYANS can attack Kaddhafi’s bandits now, dear patriot 😛

The de facto Government of Libya is the National Transition Council. Patriots are the ones who fight on its command. “freedom fighters” are the regular forces, and Kaddhafi’s soldiers are outlaws. Kaddhafi is just a bandit whose only purpose is to have fun at terrorizing the country.
